Recordings of an interview with A.L. ("Red") Steeley (b. 1893), Anglo-American fiddler who was born in Scotsboro, Ala., but lived most of his life in Arlington, Tex. Steeley and Walter L. ("Red") Graham, Anglo- American banjo player, formed the Redheaded Fiddlers in ca. 1925. Steeley gives his and Graham's life histories, and discusses the Redheaded Fiddlers' repertoire of old-time Southeastern tunes, their unique blending of Southeastern fiddle and banjo techniques with Texas rhythms and timings, their recording history with Brunswick Records, fiddlers' conventions around the Arlington, Tex. area, and other local fiddlers.
